Export the Certificates (Obtain pfx(ps12) file)

We recommend that you copy your certificate and private key to removable media which should be kept in safe. The exportation is also a copy that you can import it into any browser you want. User should protect it safely or we will revoke it if there is any security issue we suffer from. File extension of the exportation will be pfx if exporting user certificate from IE, and file extension will be ps12 if exporting it from Firefox.

Exporting the digital certificate with the private key from IE:

Step 1: Open the IE browser and GoTo  “Tools“->”Internet Options

Step 2: Click the “Content” tab, then choose “Certificates

Step 3: Click your certificate that you want to export.

Step 4: Click the “Export” button

Step 5: Click “Next” in the “Export Wizard” window

Step 6: Select “Export private key“. Click “Next

Step 7: Make sure “Personal Information Exchange -PKCS#12” is checked, and also the “Enable strong protection“.

Step 8: The “Delete private key if successful” must be unchecked. The “Include all certificate in path” button should be unchecked, too. Click “Next“.

Step 8: Type the passphrase(twice) that you use to protect your private key. We recommend you choose 12 characters of pass phrase. Click “Next“.

Step 9: Type the name of the file where you want to store your certificate. Click “Next“.

Step 10: Click “Finish

Exporting the digital certificate with the private key from Firefox:

Step 1: Open the Firefox browser and GoTo  “Tools“->”Options

Step 2: Click “Advanced” and then “Encryption” Tab.

Step 3: Click “View Certificates” which opens a new dailog window.

Step 4: Goto to “Your Certificates” tab and select the Certificate which you want to backup.

Step 5: Then a Dailog Window Pops out for the File Name. Enter the Proper Filename and the Path where it needs to be stored.

Step 5: Type the passphrase(twice) that you use to protect your private key. We recommend you choose 12 characters of pass phrase. Click “Ok“.

Step 6: After successful backup it will throw the message as shown below:

“Successfully backedup your security certificate(s) and private key(s).
